That tool list (almost) in full...

Took a bit of time sorting out what tools to take. Although we have AA cover, we're effectively unsupported on our way down to Devon and coming back from Inverness so if anything does go wrong (which it won't), then if we can fix it ourselves we're in a better position to avoid returning on the back of a breakdown truck.

So here, in no particular order, is the cause of most of the weight in the boot:
  • spanners from 5/16in to 15/16in, a couple of small metrics for the more modern bits of the car, the good old crow's foot brake union type one and of course a brake adjuster
  • 3/8in drive sockets from 5/16in to 7/8in, some other larger 1/2in drive sizes for hub nuts/suspension items etc
  • an array of screwdrivers, flat bladed, Phillips and Pozidrive
  • several pairs of pliers, multi purpose, long nosed, self-gripping etc
  • wire stripper/crimper, scissors, utility knife
  • ball joint splitter, packing pieces for the top suspension arms, special tensioning washers for doing front wheel bearings and the "special tool to get the circlip on rear brake cylinders type thing"
  • torque wrench
  • axle stands and a trolley jack
These are in addition to the "standard" toolkit, consisting of the jack, an 11/16in socket for the wheelnuts and a 2ft breaker bar.

I think we're largely covered. As for spare parts, that'll be another post once they're all assembled...
