Thursday

Thursday meant Moffat to Inverness, one of the longer days and also one of the most enjoyable. Team Three Bob Hustlers moved up to second position in the convoy with the Minibum on, which made it much easier to make an effort to keep up with the others, to paraphrase Camp Freddy.

The day involved getting to Dumbarton for breakfast at Morrisons, of course, arguing with tractors on gravel rally special stages (nice route, Michelle ;-) then a bit of a detour for some getting to the Erskine Bridge, and eventually a great drive up the Great Glen.

We took in Loch Lomond (with a stop off for photos and rumours of sightings of Moo and Teef), Glencoe with small amounts of snow and of course Nessie Spotting along Loch Ness. At times, it seems to have been the week for many cycling teams doing the run as well. Some of our teams enjoyed LEJOG-on-a-bike-pert-bottom Spotting too...

After a long run with a break at Urquhart Castle (which is a £6.50 loo stop, unless you brave a crossing of the A82 and a run up the embankment) we reached Lochend, and soon after Inverness.

The campsite (council owned) was ready for us and thankfully it was dry whilst we started putting the tents up. Soon after it was time for tinnies and takeaway, ordered in three parts and almost complete - apart from Grace's kids meal.

And then it was time to contemplate the final part of the journey the next day.
